Many gamers got excited about three days ago when gaming supersite IGN debuted a trailer for a movie based on Nintendo’s classic adventure RPG franchise The Legend of Zelda.
Here IGN comes clean about the production as an elaborate hoax.
And I do mean elaborate. The trailer, though released on April Fool’s Day and not tied to any actual movie in development, was no laughing matter. Real effort went into its production, real working actors were hired, including J.R. Killigrew (pictured as the hero Link), and real money was spent (including about $10,000 just to train Killigrew to ride a horse properly). You can watch a behind-the-scenes featurette here.
Let’s hope some Hollywood power brokers are paying attention and give this matter some serious thought, eh?

Um, no. Uncool, man. 10,000 for horse training? Insane. Even if a Zelda movie were to be pulled off, it would have to be animated. Link was born animated, he’ll die animated. Actually, I was thinking of making one myself. But I still have to plan everything out, and get some really groovy voice actors, and permission from Nintendo once I start working for them. Hell, my friends and I were going to start a riot against it. Heh. Reminds me of Riot by Three Days Grace. Still, to sum it all up, hell no.
Link is a left-handed
Yes, Link is left-handed. But here no, because they said in the behind-the-scenes that the guy playing as Link is right-handed, and thus they wouldn’t bother training him using left for a mere trailer/joke.
They prefer burning mone on riding school. xP
Link is left handed until twilight princess. They changed it for the wii. Most of the world is right handed so they use the wii remote in their right hand. So they put Link’s sword in his right hand.

My favorite character in twilight princess is Zelda and Midna and Link of coarse .
sometimes my parents say that I’m addicted to playing Zelda but it my mom’s fault really b/c she introduced me to it. my favorite Zelda games are Ocarina of Time, Twilight princess, and Wind waker:) i love playing zelda games:)
i reckon they should make a movie and instead of spending all tht money on a prank ive always liked the legend of zelda and i have all the games and it would be awesome if it was a movie

I know this is an old post, but to Stleij11 who said “So they put Link’s sword in his right hand.” for Twilight Princess, no they did not. They put it in his LEFT hand, and flipped the entire game around to make it more compatible for the Wii and right handed users. Play the original Gamecube version and you’ll find the game is the opposite way around - Link is a leftie.

Yes Link was always left handed. And I agree a very cruel joke. But why cant it be made into a movie like Red VS Blue? Taking footage from the games and Making it that way? I would watch this movie if it were made, i raised my kids on Zelda. someone contact Nintendo!
