Wrath of the Lich King

Blizzard has unveiled the opening cinematic for the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King, the second expansion pack for the wildly popular World of Warcraft. Blizzard has a reputation for putting together incredible videos for their games and this one doesn’t disappoint. So if you know any WoW fans (and with over 6 million accounts world wide, chances are you do) point them towards it and watch them drool in anticipation. Unfortunately, there’s still no release date, but the smart money says that we’ll have it before Christmas this year.

Yes, I have drooled! My bet for release of the Lich King is two or three weeks before Thanksgiving. (Blizzard has essentially promised it will be out in time for Christmas gift-giving). The bad news is I think this expansion will require additional memory and graphics card power, forcing more than a few WoW fans to buy new computers. But I guess the economy could use a boost from such consumer spending.

  • I got the free trail of WoW but it didn’t install correctly. That’s probably a very good thing …. although Star Trek Online is going to be very difficult to resist!

There is sure to be bugs and hot fixes when it comes out. TBC had a few glitches even after tested on the PTR. It always happens. The new XPAC is a reall “catch-22″. Many are eagerly anticipating the release but others are dreading the grind to 80 from 70. Been there too. Good luck noobs!
