Damn mutants. For too long, Wolverine has dominated the headlines. Now that Hugh Jackman and Co. have had their fun, it’s time to get down to serious business.
Star Trek!
As this post goes live — and assuming all goes to plan — I will be sitting down to see an advance screening of J.J. Abrams’ take on the classic American sci-fi franchise. While I’m kicking back with a frosty beverage and my very own package of Red Vines, I’m sure you can find some way to amuse yourself:
- Speaking of Star Trek, the official exhibition is wrapping up its stay at the Arizona Science Center this weekend. Where else can you sit in the captain’s chair of a Galaxy-class starship? Nowhere, that’s where.
- Oh, my stars! Speaking of the science center, there is a constellation of activites planned there to celebrate Astronomy Day. Far out!
- And Great Caesar’s Ghost! Free Comic Book Day is here already! Head out to your nearest Android’s Dungeon equivalent to grab a free special issue and meet some true heroes.
Failing that, here’s a week’s worth of other Nerdvana to rediscover:
- ‘The Cage’ re-gilded: ‘Star Trek’ pilot episode remastered
- Weekend Reading: ‘The Graveyard Book’
- New video games: Week of April 27, 2009
- Nintendo downloads dig up ‘Nobunaga’s Ambition’
- D&D intro rules, adventure module now free to download
- ‘Clone Wars: Decoded’ reveals classified intel
- Coming to PC: ‘Bionic Commando,’ ‘Street Fighter IV,’ ‘Resident Evil 5′
- ‘Physics of Star Trek’ author gives free lecture on Sunday
