‘Street Fighter IV’ box art and launch date revealed

October 2nd, 2008, 5:50 pm by Scott Kirchhofer

Street Fighter IV, U.S. box art for the Xbox 360

Capcom’s highly anticipated Street Fighter IV is coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and PC early next year. GameStop is offering a bonus headband for pre-ordering the game, and they are saying the game will ship on Feb. 3 - though I can’t seem to confirm that date with any other source.

What is official is the sweet box art for the the regular edition of the game (there’s also a collector’s edition). It features one of my favorite fighters, Chun-Li, who is also in the upcoming movie Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. The movie stars Smallville’s Kristin Kreuk and is set to hit theaters on Feb. 27

Bungie to expand ‘Halo 3′

September 26th, 2008, 12:40 pm by Scott Kirchhofer

Bungie, the developer of a little game called Halo, released a new video on their website yesterday that teases a new Halo project. The video, titled “Keep It Clean,” doesn’t include any details but is widely believed to be a campaign expansion to Halo 3. Bungie has released several downloadable map packs for Halo 3’s online multiplayer mode, but a new campaign would be a more significant addition to the game - and probably a more costly one.

Being bad never felt so good.

Stepping into the shoes of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice and using incredible Force powers to destroy Jedi, stormtroopers and anything else in your path is what makes Star Wars: The Force Unleashed such a blast to play. Throw in the fact that it offers one of the best Star Wars stories told in a long time, and it would seem the game is a guaranteed hit.

Unfortunately, there are several disturbances in The Force. Hit the jump to read the rest of the review.

September 20th, 2008, 10:35 am by Scott Kirchhofer

Summer is over. Bring on the season that continually offers an overwhelming number of grade-A video games. While it’s already been a good year for gaming (GTA4, MGS4, Soulcalibur IV), it’s about to get a whole lot better. Gears of War 2, LittleBigPlanet and Fallout 3 are just a few exciting titles on the way.

I think this is the saddest post I’ve ever written. After seven years of creating brilliant, award-winning cover art for Fables, artist James Jean is calling it quits.

Microsoft cutting Xbox 360 prices on Friday

September 4th, 2008, 10:08 am by Scott Kirchhofer

Xbox 360 console, Microsoft Corp.

The cost of an Xbox 360 is about to drop, making the best video game console (in my opinion) more affordable for those who don’t know the joys of owning Microsoft’s happybox.
