Nobel Prize in physics comes down to Earth

‘WALL-E,’ ‘Doctor Horrible’ win Hugo Awards

The winners of the 2009 Hugo Awards, which celebrate the best in the field of science fiction and fantasy, have been announced. (A full list of the nominees, announced in March, can be found here.)

The Hugo Awards date back to 1953. Recipients are chosen by members of the World Science Fiction Society (WSFS). The Hugos are presented each year at the World Science Fiction Convention. The 67th World Science Fiction Convention, known as Anticipation, took place this weekend in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Read the rest of this entry »

2009 Hugo Award nominees announced

Here are the nominees for the 2009 Hugo Awards, science fiction’s most prestigious honor. The Hugos are voted on by the thousands of members of the annual World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon), which is also responsible for administering the awards. Winners will be announced at Worldcon in Montreal this August.
