Harmonix and MTV Games announced today the addition of six new tracks to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content for Wii. The lineup features four tracks from classic rock band Boston including “Hitch a Ride,” “Peace of Mind,” “Smokin’” and “Something About You.”
In addition to the Boston tracks, Rock Band 2 Wii fans will also gain access to”Hanging on the Telephone” by Blondie and “Dirty Little Secret” from All-American Rejects. Read the rest of this entry »

Harmonix and MTV Games has announced seven new tracks for the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content including a three-pack from Irish hard rock band Thin Lizzy as well as songs from Nikko, Pat Benatar and The Pretenders.
Rock sensation Pat Benatar (pictured) has her Rock Band debut with the popular single “Hit Me With Your Best Shot.”

Having already delivered fans over 70 rockin’ downloadable tracks for Activision’s Guitar Hero World Tour since the game’s October 2008 launch, three new track packs spanning a variety of musical genres and multiple artists will be available throughout February to Guitar Hero fans across the globe. This spring, Guitar Hero Metallica will take music fans through the band’s fabled library of songs, plus the music and musicians who influence them. When the house lights go down, virtual rock stars across the globe will shred, drum and wail to an explosive set list featuring over 45 tracks from Metallica’s illustrious career and a wide variety of other legendary artists personally selected by the band, such as Queen, Foo Fighters, Bob Seger, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slayer and Judas Priest. Atlus is pushing back the release date of its Nintendo DS RPG compilation Legacy of Ys: Books I & II two weeks, to Feb. 24 — but the company is rewarding fans for their involuntary patience by upgrading all launch copies to a “premium” boxed set. Rock Band 2 players on Nintendo’s Wii have access to six new downloadable tracks from the in-game Rock Band 2 Music Store:
- Nine Inch Nails, “March of the Pigs”
- Nine Inch Nails, “The Collector”
- Ramones, “Rockaway Beach”
- Clash, “I Fought the Law”
- Jimmy Buffett, “Margaritaville”
- Jimmy Buffett, “Volcano”

Two songs from rocker Bruce Springsteen will be up for download Jan. 27 for Guitar Hero World Tour.
The career-defining 1975 hit “Born to Run” and the brand-new song “My Lucky Day” will be available as a free Track Pack during the first week after the new album “Working on a Dream” is released.
Then, starting Feb. 5, the Track Pack will be available for sale on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system and the songs will be sold as singles on Wii.
