Crisp mountain air, meth-contaminated comics books and armed robbery — meddling kid and Klingon style! Investigators this week announced they have broken up a massive methamphetamine ring that brought weekly drug shipments to the Denver area through Phoenix, then laundered the profits with half a million dollars’ worth of collectible comics books — including some Superman and Batman first editions. And there was some question about whether Michelle Obama’s father is or isn’t buried there. (The White House now insists he isn’t and never was.) This was followed by a case of vandals toppling tombstones at an historic South Carolina graveyard. Now comes word of a 51-year-old man caught in the buff in an Indiana cemetery. It’s a little troublesome when the dead start piling up in the bushes to make room for new arrivals, and it’s certainly unsettling, I’m sure, to see headstones kicked over and flashers strutting about. At least one D&D piracy case headed to mediationJune 19th, 2009, 11:33 pm by Jayson PetersAn Associated Press story reveals more details about the recent Dungeons & Dragons lawsuits than you can shake a Rod of Lordly Might at. One of the defendants is bravely questing forth to represent himself in a copyright infringement suit filed by Wizards of the Coast, which is basically Hasbro — one of the largest toymakers in the world. The wasps constructed the hives out of “fairly highly contaminated” mud containing radioactive cesium and cobalt. While most of the wasps have moved out, there could be thousands of nests to be cleaned out. This just goes to show that no matter how bad your job is, it can always get worse.
