Sunday seems so very far away. It’s going to be a loooong week for me. At least, I’ll have Iron Man to tide me over! Superman vs. Sub-Zero?April 25th, 2008, 3:32 pm by Chris "KeL" AdamsOkay, this is one of those internet rumors that’s been kicking around forever, but it appears like it’s finally coming true: Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. The classic arcade beat-’em-up franchise is crossing over and going toe-to-toe with some of the world’s most recognizable and popular superheroes. Only a handful of characters have been announced. Superman and Batman will represent the DCU, while Sub-Zero and Scorpion will carry the banner for MK. However, with the extensive rosters on both sides, I’m sure we’ll see plenty more favorites included before it hits next-gen consoles this fall. The Joker got a fresh coat of paint this week and reminded us why we love his brand of psychotic villainy in the 20th anniversary special hardcover edition of Batman: The Killing Joke. Originally released as a one-shot comic in 1998, The Killing Joke was written by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland. Among fans of Batman and comics it is considered the greatest Joker story ever told. The new hardcover edition of the book features all-new coloring by Bolland, an introduction by artist Tim Sale and an additional story An Innocent Guy by Brian Bolland previously featured in Batman: Black and White. Can’t wait for The Dark Knight July 18 release? Wanting more Batman in your life? Do you like anime? If so, you and I are in for a real treat. Two of my greatest passions, Batman and anime, join forces on July 8 with the release of Batman: Gotham Knight on DVD and Blu-ray. The movie will be composed of six shorts made by Japan’s Studio 4°C, Production I.G, and Madhouse, the same studios that worked on The Animatrix movie. If that doesn’t get you excited there’s more… The Dark Knight new poster and trailer!!!December 17th, 2007, 10:28 pm by Scott Kirchhofer‘Clown Prince of Crime’ shines in The Dark Knight IMAX clipDecember 16th, 2007, 10:39 pm by Scott Kirchhofer
There are three different IMAX theater locations in the Valley and only one of them is showing I Am Legend with a special-feature preview of the upcoming The Dark Knight movie. AMC Deer Valley 30 with IMAX featured the clip, which was first six minutes of the sequel to Batman Begins. The new film opens July 18. In it Bruce Wayne/Batman continues to clean up the corrupt and criminal streets of Gotham City and faces two new villains — Two-Face (played by Aaron Eckhart) and his greatest enemy The Joker (played by Heath Ledger). Four major action sequences in the movie were filmed with IMAX cameras, one of them being the introduction of the Joker at the start of the movie. Click here for a detailed description of the preview. I won’t get into particulars here, but I will say the clip gives me no doubt that The Dark Knight will be a amazing film and that Heath Ledger will rule the role of the Joker. Check out Kel’s post for more more goodies from this highly anticipated movie.
