Revenge of the nerds?July 16th, 2009, 5:25 pm by Jayson Peters Jim Parsons (CBS) Jim Parsons, who plays neurotic theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory on CBS, was nominated Thursday for the Emmy award for best lead actor in a comedy series. “No! … This is some sort of trick fest,” said Parsons, who was helping to announce the nominations for the Sept. 20 ceremony. “I feel a little dreamlike right now,” Parsons said later, according to The Associated Press. You can watch him talk about the nomination — his very first — on The Early Show. He will no doubt celebrate by playing Rock-Paper-Scissors-Spock-Lizard, indulging in Vintage Video Game Night or sorting his cereal numerically by fiber content.
