Revenge of the nerds?July 16th, 2009, 5:25 pm by Jayson PetersJim Parsons, who plays neurotic theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory on CBS, was nominated Thursday for the Emmy award for best lead actor in a comedy series. “No! … This is some sort of trick fest,” said Parsons, who was helping to announce the nominations for the Sept. 20 ceremony. “I feel a little dreamlike right now,” Parsons said later, according to The Associated Press. You can watch him talk about the nomination — his very first — on The Early Show. He will no doubt celebrate by playing Rock-Paper-Scissors-Spock-Lizard, indulging in Vintage Video Game Night or sorting his cereal numerically by fiber content.
